I would not hog that port out, I would Pitot and graph that port and remove only what you really need to hit your goals. David will be a big help with this. This has meant, at most, installing 1.94 intakes and 1.6 exhausts blending the seats into the port bowl, skinnying the guide boss some and there you go flow up from about 155 at 0.500 to about 190 with a similar increase on the exhaust.

WebFeb 6, 2003 · For me porting the heads was worth the time since I did not have the money to buy some aluminum units. Expect about 8-11 hours per head to do a good porting job. It just takes time to remove all the material in the exhuast! Get some carbide bits as they cut a lot faster than dremel bits.
